Worship Services

Granby Congregational Church believes that worship is not a passive event.

It is an active experience where we celebrate our love of God and each other in prayer, song and fellowship. Parts of a worship service can be upbeat and informal, participatory and educational, prayerful and contemplative and certainly joyous. Services are intergenerational with children and youth actively participating in the beginning of every worship service. On the first Sunday of every month Communion is served to anyone who chooses to partake. Sometimes we have the honor of witnessing a baptism or confirmation during a service. Or listening to a special musical guest or hearing inspiring words from a guest preacher. We are always exploring ways to create meaningful and inspiring worship moments.

Music is a much celebrated and cherished piece of all worship services at Granby Congregational Church.

The talents of our Music Director, choir members, bell choir and special musicians and singers is something to behold. It is not uncommon to hear traditional hymns and more contemporary music in one worship service. And when the Congregation lifts their voices in praise, it can be truly powerful and moving. We invite anyone who is interested in joining one of our choirs, or would like to preform or sing a piece of music during worship to speak to Norman McFarland.

Following most worship services we create a time for fellowship by hosting a coffee hour.

Complete with light fare and refreshments, it provides a perfect environment to connect with one another and deepen relationships. The youth also enjoy this time and the many sweet treats that can be had.
